Rev. Nate Wollenberg has served as the Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Hoyleton since December 2016. He serves primarily by preaching and teaching God’s Word, visiting the sick and shut-in members of the congregation, and supporting our school ministry through Confirmation instruction and by frequently leading our midweek chapel services.

Pastor Wollenberg grew up in Connecticut and decided to pursue pastoral ministry after attending a short-term mission trip in the Alaskan tundra, which he attended in high school. He graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a Theological Languages degree in 2008. He received his M.Div from Concordia Seminary St. Louis in 2012, after four years of theological education which included a year-long vicarage internship in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Pastor’s first pastoral call was on the southern border, where he served as the Associate Pastor of Family Life Ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen, TX from 2012-2016. While there, he was heavily involved in planning events for family ministry, youth ministry, Vacation Bible School, in addition to regular preaching and teaching.

Pastor Wollenberg married his wife, Katie, in 2010. Katie has a Lutheran Education degree from Concordia University Wisconsin and has experience serving Lutheran schools in various capacities, including classroom teaching, substitute teaching, and librarian work. She can be frequently seen around the school volunteering her time to support our ministry at Trinity. Pastor and Katie have been blessed with three wonderful children – Zoe, Zachary, and Max!
